About This Role

Tile Health’s analytics engineers sit at the crossroads of data engineering and analytics, owning the semantic layer that transforms raw health data into reliable metrics. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will design dbt models, define business logic for clinical quality measures, and ensure that every stakeholder-from data scientists to clinical operations leads-trusts the numbers they see. You will champion data quality and documentation as first-class concerns.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain dbt transformation models that produce clinical, financial, and operational datasets from raw source data
  • Define reusable metric definitions for clinical quality measures (HEDIS, CMS Stars) and financial KPIs (PMPM, MLR)
  • Implement data testing strategies including schema tests, freshness checks, and cross-source reconciliation
  • Build and curate a self-service data catalog with clear documentation of table definitions, column semantics, and known caveats
  • Partner with BI analysts and product teams to optimize query performance and dashboard load times

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data analyst, or BI engineer working with complex datasets
  • Advanced SQL proficiency with experience writing performant queries against large-scale analytical databases
  • Hands-on experience with dbt (dbt Core or dbt Cloud) including model structuring, testing, and documentation
  • Familiarity with healthcare data domains such as claims adjudication, clinical encounters, and pharmacy transactions
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data transformations
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with clinicians and business stakeholders on metric definitions

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks SQL
  • Familiarity with semantic layer tools such as Lightdash, Looker, or MetricFlow
  • Background in healthcare quality measurement or NCQA reporting
