About This Role
Tile Health’s mobile app is an essential touchpoint for patient engagement-enabling medication reminders, vital sign tracking, secure messaging, and appointment management. The iOS Engineer will develop high-quality native features using Swift and SwiftUI, integrating with HealthKit and FHIR APIs to present a unified health experience. You will prioritize performance, offline resilience, and the privacy expectations that patients have for their most sensitive data.
What You'll Do
- Develop new features and maintain existing functionality in the Tile Health iOS application using Swift and SwiftUI
- Integrate with Apple HealthKit to read and write health data including vitals, activity, and medication adherence
- Implement secure local storage and offline-capable sync patterns for health data using Core Data and background fetch
- Build push notification and in-app messaging flows for appointment reminders, lab result availability, and care team communications
- Collaborate with the design team to implement pixel-perfect UI following Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Tile Health’s design system
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of iOS development experience with production apps in the App Store
- Strong proficiency in Swift with experience building declarative UI using SwiftUI and UIKit interoperability
- Experience with Apple HealthKit framework and health data permission models
- Familiarity with iOS security best practices including Keychain, App Transport Security, and biometric authentication
- Experience with RESTful API integration, background data synchronization, and offline-first architecture patterns
- Strong unit testing practices using XCTest and UI testing with XCUITest
Nice to Have
- Experience with FHIR client libraries on iOS
- Familiarity with accessibility features on iOS (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type)
- Experience publishing apps in regulated categories (health, finance) with App Review compliance
- Knowledge of Combine framework and reactive programming patterns
