Backend Engineer, Payments

About This Role

The Payments team keeps money flowing correctly between payers, practices, and Tile Health. As a Backend Engineer, you will build the services that make payments accurate and auditable.

What You'll Do

• Design and build backend services for payments and reconciliation
• Ensure correctness, idempotency, and auditability across financial flows
• Integrate with payers, clearinghouses, and financial partners
• Monitor and improve the reliability of payment systems

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong understanding of data consistency and reliability patterns
• Experience integrating third-party APIs
• Careful, detail-oriented approach to financial correctness

Nice to Have

• Experience with payments, billing, or financial systems
• Familiarity with healthcare claims or EDI
